Of Love and Lust

For a long time we, your faithful pencilnecks, have thought clerii hilariously illogical and contradictory but also their views on love and relationships, shall we say, strange. This latest example snagged by our ever elusive *wink* ninjas may yet take the cake.

We give you anastar:

And there you have it. Yes, you can trust your eyes because you read that right. Read it again, absorb its full meaning. Not only, from the purely argumentative point of view, are we supposed to believe the clerith pairing would hold any wind whatsoever when Cloud canonically, by anastar's own admission, has had sex with Tifa. No, the more disturbing thing is that it doesn't really bother them, that it is... alright. Men are just men. It is ok for one to act on his lust for another woman because, really, who wouldn't hit that?

An honest man? We ask. What kind woman would be alright with degrading herself so? Not the much worshiped Aerith surely. And what kind of fandom would accept humiliating their female characters this way? Furthermore would SE demean them so? Yet again we wonder if this really is about the love of a pairing, or is it about saving face?
