~Writing a Superior Argument for The Superior Clerii~

You may think that in order to talk about our OTP, you need to gather your thoughts, and cite your sources. Occasionally, polite conversation with the other side is a must. You can both enjoy the fandom together, right?

This is wrong wrong wrong.

First of all, Cleris is so canon it hurts, and you must convince everyone of this truth. Including yourself. So you must learn to write proper arguments to show your support. It’s okay for you to like fanon pairings like Tserith, but pairing Cloud with Tifa is wrong.

To start, arguments are visual. If this were a real debate, this would be akin to how shrill your tone would be and how LOUD your voice is, but online, you can fake this by the use of sophisticated techniques, such as formatting font, smilies (XD), and colored fonts. Nothing says “I’m good at what I do” like randomly bolding and italicizing words for emphasis, using a smilie to prove your point , and knowing enough basic HTML and spelling to get that desired effect.
Once you’ve properly gotten the visual appeal, it’s best to display an air of infallibility :god:. Proven wrong on something? :( It never happened. Hit the pause button, go away for some time (making sure to inform everyone that you have a life and can't argue about the sex life of polygons) and come back after the dust has settled to reiterate the same things. Don't worry, this isn't cowardly. It is the only way to get through their thick heads without actually having to respond to each individual point they make. After all, you are busy and addressing issues they raise detracts from the truth you are trying to make them see anyway. Besides, the other side was wrong about lots of stuff. You don’t need to prove what sort of stuff they were wrong about, because it was wrong. Got it? Pretend like it happened long enough, eventually people will start to believe you, and if they question you, bitch them out.

In debates and essays, categorizing people in a singular category is an excellent way of demonizing an entire group. Whine and scream like a little baby to get your way; it makes people respect you. If you make a big enough fuss, you will get your way.

Nothing strengthens an essay like an adjective except for stringing together three or more, so use lots in every sentence to make your point, it makes your essay longer, and therefore, better. Ends in an –ly? That’s how you know how to defeat those absurdly, crudely, punctually dumb and oversexed Clotis.

Also be sure to use the phrase "I have proven". Here's an example: "Sex under the Highwind would involve getting busy on jagged rocks, and since we know Cloud and Tifa would never do something like that, I have proven that the Clotis are just rabid and sex-crazed."

Finally, claim your well deserved victory safe among your own kind , where anyone who points out otherwise is trolling and you can ban them.
