Desperate Measures

First, there was denial of the correct translation of Crisis Core's ending:

The one in which people cling to a faulty translation because they like it better. Ringing any bells?

Now, comes the backtracking on the Clerii stance on English guide books. After claiming DC's stragety guide was proof Cloud ditched Tifa to go molest flowers forever, in comes CC's guide book sounding awfully romantic in all the wrong ways.

What's a noble Cleris to do when face with the biased lies otherwise known as the truth? Deny it, of course. By attacking the writers of the book.

If it sounds romantic, then it can't possibly be romantic! The writers must just be shoving their opinions in. The reason it sounds romantic couldn't be because that's how it's meant to be: romantic. It's not like we could have got everything completely wrong in our desperate attempts to justify our personal desires!

Changing your opinions when things don't go your way only help make you look like you're desperate. But then again, 'desperate' is perfect way to describe them rabid Clerii.
